Jeez I wish the IRS would just...

I'm trying to orient myself in your 538 documentation and
failing to some extent because I can't see a running table of contents
on the left. Come on, fix that.
How you can fix it: Get the new Acrobat Reader. |
| I'll warn you that it is
expensive but don't blame me, blame Adobe. Anyhow, get it because it
installs a fabulous macro into Microsoft Word which allows you (exactly
like FrameMaker) to export bookmarks created through your styles (called
paragraph tags in FrameMaker). This feature makes me smile every time it
works. It has the feel of a kludge but it isn't, it really works
beautifully. |

For the sake of platform standarization, please drop all
the Em——dashes and En––dashes
in your document names. For example 1040––EZ.
In some flavors of Linux even a space in a filename can stop an online
help project from distributing as multi-platform. |
|
As you move into single-sourcing your documentation, before working
hard to compensate for the M-dash, remember it restrict your
availability to search engines.
You can let go, just breathe. It won't hurt a bit and even if a few
offset printers who will have to work hard on the first production, it
is worth the shift. remember, we are the Claude Garamond's of our day!. |
| Wish to say something (tax
related) to the IRS or if you are from the IRS and want to say something
to me that I can publish on this page:
Let me know. |
